FEEL THE PULL OF NATURE AND CONNECT TO YOUR INNER TRUTH

This exercise empowers you to connect with your own inner truth by listening and feeling into your intuitive side out in nature. It’s for people that have a strong connection with nature, desire a deeper connection within themselves or need to make an important decision. You can also use this exercise with clients if you have access to nature or any outdoor space.

Great for:

  •  Outdoor enthusiasts that want to connect with their intuition
  •  People that desire a greater attunement to their own inner-wisdom
  •  People that are stuck in life with a situation or challenge that requires a decision

Transformational coaches with good access to nature

In today’s world it can be easy to become overwhelmed by the constant movement and change in the outside world. TV, computer and phone screens take up a good chunk of your time and attention and with all this connection to the outside world it can be easy to slowly lose connection within yourself. This is why time spent in nature can help you disconnect from technology and reconnect to you.

Listening to where your intuition is guiding you to go while you’re in the wilderness, rather than where your logical mind thinks you should go, can bring great revelations into understanding your goals and needs on a deeper level. Being in nature gets you out of your head and into your heart. Nature is an amazing place to connect with your intuition and ask for answers to the problems or challenges you face.

From where you ultimately feel pulled to sit in nature, you are given the gift of seeing and understanding what answers nature might have for you. The lucid stream you come upon can show you that you need to learn to flow and be adaptable within your own life. The trees swaying in the wind can show you that strong roots are much more important than how you look. That mountain in the distance may show you that challenges in life are needed for us to grow and rather than dwelling on the struggle, you need to shift your perception to understanding that the journey to the top may be tough, but the views are worth the pain.

Rather than focusing on the external struggles that your mind is constantly trying to solve, this exercise trains you to explore what is beneath the surface. What is lying in waiting within your unconscious mind that can be brought to the surface? You can go around in circles tackling the issues you are facing in the outside world (career, relationships, finances), but in the stillness of the wilderness you are able to tap into what your intuition and higher self is trying to communicate. The answers you need are already inside of you.

Steps

1. Be quiet and practice listening internally and feeling the “pull” into nature. Visualize with your mind’s eye showing you where you need to go and not what your physical eyes are telling you.
2. Be patient and remember to breathe slowly as you listen within yourself. This isn’t a race, but rather a chance to be connected with yourself and the land. It’s more important to move slowly and methodically than rushing through the process.
3. Use the senses. Feel what they are telling you. Trust your intuition and trust your gut on what direction you need to go. Learn to let go of the past and future and practice being fully present in the moment as you are guided from within yourself.
4. From this same place of feeling, feel where your inner pull is taking you. It could be a short hike to your destination or it could be a few feet away from where you are standing.
5. As you move out on the land, staying connected to the present moment, ask yourself these questions: What am I noticing? What is this telling/teaching me? What am I learning more about myself as I listen to my own inner wisdom?

Tips
Be patient. This exercise requires some time and patience because the volume on the dial between your physical mind and your intuition may not be turned up that high to start out. The point is to tap into your intuition and gut instinct so it may take a while, but it is worth it!

Be quiet and trust the process. Practicing this exercise in silence is crucial. Feel the earth beneath your shoes, or better yet, go barefoot. Smell the fresh air and feel the direction of the breeze on your face. Listen to sounds of the wilderness while also listening to the sounds of your own inner wilderness. Let go of what the eyes are seeing and the mind is thinking and concentrate on what the heart is saying and where your intuition is guiding you.

Case study
Several years ago I had the privilege of implementing this exercise with a close friend of mine. As we hiked through the forest, with the leaves and pine needles crunching underneath our shoes, we finally came to the spot that my friend felt pulled to sit as she started to share with me about her own personal struggles.

Expectations from friends and family in her personal life were taking a toll on her and she was battling some physical sickness on top of that. And instead of being hung up on the people putting high expectations on her and her physical ailments, we decided to listen and dive deeper 먹튀검증.

As the trees blew violently from the strong winds above us, she was able to come to a profound realization. The strongest trees around weren’t the most rigid trees that were unaffected by the wind, but rather the trees that were able to move and sway and dance with the wind. She then quickly understood that she needs to do the same in her personal life. Rather than put up walls and try to be strong she needed to learn to roll with the punches and that her inner strength could handle the strong winds.

That is the power of this exercise when done correctly. It can train us to learn to listen to ourselves on a deeper level than we can ever imagine. All we need is to be patient and open. And some beautiful open space never hurts too.

Tips for coaches
This exercise is perfect to use with clients that have a strong connection with nature and are desiring a deeper connection within themselves. Use it for the beginning of a coaching session to set the tone for the rest of the session.

Invite your client to attune to their senses (smell, sound, taste) as they move through nature. Encourage your clients to listen and feel rather than think and see with their eyes. This exercise is fun and can be a little adventurous, but be sure to always stay safe and in safe places in nature with your client.
