There is a saying in the web design industry that “Content is King ” Any web designer working in the  business has without a doubt heard this phrase, along with the simple truth that web content is the reason why individuals go to the web pages you create. It is also the reason why those people would share that website (and the content it contains) with others by means of social media, links on other websites, or even just good old fashioned word of mouth. When it comes to the success of a website, the Content is actually a king.

Importance of Quality Web Content

Regardless of the importance of quality website content, many web designers and developers have forgotten it with their best pages and the most interesting architecture or even the best conversations. When it comes right below it, however, customers are not interested in whether your design has a 3-pixel or 5-pixel border. They don’t care that you’ve built it in WordPress, Expression Engine, or on some other platform. Yes, they can appreciate a good user interface, not because it looks great, but because they expect the interactivity to work and not get in the way.

What your customers are coming to your website page for the content. If your designs, site architectures, and interactivity are for the most part magnificently executed, but if the site does not offer usual, quality content, your visitors will leave the site and search for another that offers the content they are looking for. At the end of the day, the Content is still the king, and the designers who forget that the business will not last long.

There are, basically, two kinds of Web content: text and media

Text as Web Content: Text is simple. It’s the written content that’s on the page, both inside pictures and in text blocks. The best text content web is the text that is written for the web rather than copy-and-paste only from the print source.  Textual web content also has good internal links that allow the reader to get more information and be able to dig deeper into that content should they so desire. Finally, web texts will be written for audiences worldwide, as even local pages can be read by anyone in the world.

Website text content can be something as typical and direct as your organization’s “About Us” text or history. It could be information on your hours of operation or location and directions. Text content can also be pages that are regularly added to and updated, similar to a blog or press release pages, or information about upcoming events that you are promoting. These can all be text content, and each of them can also include Media Web Content also.

Media Web Content: The other sort of Web content is media. Essentially, media or “multimedia” as it was regularly called in the past is any content that isn’t text. It includes animation, images, sound, and video.

The best animations for sites are done with some moderation. The exception to this rule would be if your website is to showcase an animated movies or web cartoon, but in those cases, you would likely be delivering the content as a video as opposed to actual web animation.

Images are the well-known method to add multimedia to websites. You can use photos or even art you’ve made yourself utilizing a graphics editor of some kind. Images on website pages ought to be optimized so that they download and load fast. They are an incredible method to add interest to your pages, and numerous designers use them to decorate every article they write.

The sound is embedded in the web page so you can hear it when you enter the site or when you click on a link to turn it on. Remember that sound on Web pages can be controversial, particularly if you turn it on automatically and don’t give an approach to turn it off easily. In fact, adding sound to a website is a relic of past web design practices and is not what is done today.

Video is incredibly popular on website pages. But it can be challenging include a video so it works reliably across various browsers. One of the easiest ways to do this is to upload the video to a service like YouTube, dailymotion or Vimeo and to then use the “embed” code from those sites to add it to your page. This will make an iFrame on your site with that video content embedded. It is the easiest and more reliable way to add a video to a site page.
