Coronavirus pandemic clobbered each one of us. Lockdown, curfews, work from home, School@ Home  impacted people of all ages from children to the elderly. With all safety measures in place, the number of reported cases and deaths due to COVID-19 continue to appreciate each day. Most people are raising questions like whether we will ever go back to school or office and live so-called “normal” life?

Lockdowns, COVID-19 guidelines imposed by the government to stay safe like wearing a mask, washing hands, social distancing, avoid social gatherings, and whatnot. Some people have managed to pick some positives out of the pandemic.

A study was conducted to record the response of people to the pandemic. Most of them were missing their loved ones who lost their lives during the pandemic. Some appreciated the government’s efforts and said that they got a chance to spend quality time with their family.

Things lockdown taught to kids

Lockdown days allowed children to learn from home. It gave them time to explore new things like brainstorming games. Spider Solitaire 1 Suit has become one of the trending games during lockdown. Some kids tried this online and loved it.

Lockdown gave them opportunities to learn about preserving nature. It taught them to tidy up their room after their school time is over. It made them more disciplined and responsible since everyone was at home, they were constantly under watch.

Curfews helped them to become more responsible and contribute more to solve a national problem. The silent understanding of kids was simply amazing. Now each kid knows the importance of staying home, staying safe. Now parents may hesitate to wear a mask in public places but their kids remind them to wear it.

During curfews, many learned about the importance of being creative with the scarce resources and limited physical space they had at home. Also, many came to appreciate that small acts of kindness and gratitude to other family members help to boost emotional wellbeing.

Kids learned the importance of a family in their life. For the first time in life, they were at home celebrating all occasions and traditions with the family. The bonding between family members increased as they got ample time to understand and talk to each other.

Kids learned to connect with their grandparents emotionally. This helped the elderly spend quality time with their grandchildren.

Learned the importance of in-person talks. Nothing can replace the emotional touch of in-person talk. Earlier, we used to call our parents or kids and talk to them over the phone. Now the lockdown has forced everyone to stay home. This way, family members talk to each other in-person instead of calling on the phone. They got a chance to understand the importance of staying together in a crisis.

COVID-19 taught me the importance of saving money. So many people were forced to take early retirement. So many left their jobs due to the recession. COVID-19 recession taught us to save money and come up with a money back-up plan in case a similar crisis hit the nation again.
