Microsoft may be working on a major visual change in its Hotmail e-mail service and may also change its name to “Newmail,” according to a report on “Liveside.net . ”
The new Hotmail identity comes close to the look used in Windows 8, the company’s new operating system, which has a block-based interface called the “Metro.” According to the site, Microsoft says the system is more “intuitive, fast and has smooth navigation.”
“Liveside.net” states that initially users will be able to choose between using the e-mail service with the new look, which can be called “Newmail”, or keeping the current Hotmail for a certain time.
The report says that the change will serve to make the use of Microsoft’s email service more simple and intuitive, especially when accessing it on tablets or smartphones. There will be synchronization of contacts and emails and it will be possible to have multiple email addresses in just one “Newmail” account. Additionally, you can connect your Twitter or Facebook accounts to receive updates from friends directly on the service.
Microsoft had previously revealed that it was working on a change in Hotmail, but had not released images or information about this change. The company did not comment on the images published by “Liveside.net”.
