The medical practices of OBGYN (obstetrics and gynecology) are closely linked and often practiced together. Obstetrics is involved specifically with pregnancy and the care of women providing birth. Gynecology (OBGYN) deals with the roles and conditions specific to women and girls, particularly those affecting the female generative tract. When practiced together, the works are usually referred to as OB-GYN. The fields of gynecology & obstetrics are distinct but always interlinked, in part to ensure a continuum of care if and when a wife becomes pregnant. This could involve wherever from two to four years of further training to focus on specific features of obstetrics-gynecology.
