Each child needs a lovely table. Parents should choose a comfortable model, consider the height of the furniture, colors, and design, inquire about the material from which the product is made.
Children’s tables are a critical piece of furniture in a child’s life. The need for a kids table appears from about a year of life. The child is fed and taught to eat independently at such a table. The kid is engaged in it — it usually draws, sculpts, collects mosaics. Little tables for babies, toddlers, or even pre-schoolers are made of eco-friendly materials and have a safe height. Today, the market offers numerous alternatives: Tables with fixed and adjustable sizes and sets with chairs.
Top kinds of tables
If you choose a table for a child 2-3 years old, first decide what the new thing should be. The table usually consists of a horizontal tabletop and several legs. It may have additional drawers and shelves. Often a child’s chair is included with the table, although it can be purchased separately without any problems. The tables can be growing. That is, they can change the height and adapt to the child’s growth.
According to the shape of the table, the following options are distinguished:
- Round
- Rectangular.
- Square.
- Figured.
If the baby does not have to bend over the table too much or, conversely, stand up to reach the tabletop, we can conclude that it is comfortable. The tabletop should be at the level of the seated person’s diaphragm. Ideally, about 8-10 cm of free space should be kept to the knees. The developing table for a three-year-old child should be rectangular or square since children can keep their elbows in weight at a round table.
Popular materials
Tables should be chosen from materials that are safe for health and the environment. Natural wood is an environmentally friendly, practical, aesthetic material that will last a long time. The most durable are products made from deciduous trees: cherry, ash, walnut, beech. Conifers produce softer tables that can be prone to dents and scratches. However, regardless of what type of wood the furniture is made of, it should in no case be treated with toxic varnishes and paints.
Design and colors
Of course, the children’s table and high chair should be attractive enough and harmoniously fit into the room. Beautiful colors will delight the eyes of a bit of fidget and arouse interest, contributing to creative activity. But here, too, it is worth adhering to special rules so that the color scheme does not irritate the eyes. It is worth avoiding obtrusive drawings on the work surface — this can distract the baby from the main activity and quickly get bored. Variants of game tables, designed in objects, houses, or cartoon characters, will be entertaining.
