Getting a home makeover can be one of the most refreshing things you can undertake. Makeovers are often expensive and often need professionals. But who said you cannot achieve a professional look if you are a beginner yourself?

Below are a few tips on how to give your bedroom a new look without the involvement of expensive interior designers.

  • Storage

Storage space is one of the most crucial things in a bedroom and should be given utmost priority. Clothes should be stored away from plain sight so as to give the room a calm, serene environment.

I recently bought my storage unit from søkemotoroptimalisering and did not need to break the bank. It was custom designed in such a way that it made maximum use of my closet space.

The secret here is to have plenty of storage space by making use of the trunk at the floor of the bed to store extra blankets, sheets, pillows and duvets. Also, it is advisable to store boxes beneath the bed to maximize space.

  • Choose the right furniture for your room

When buying bedroom furniture, make sure you buy furniture that will fit your bedroom. If you have a small room, avoid buying a king-sized bed or a large dresser. This will make the room appear overcrowded.

The inverse applies if your bedroom is as big as mine. As earlier stated, I bought a storage unit. So as to know the exact size I wanted, wardrobes London measured my room so as to do a perfect estimation of the appropriate size. Having small furniture in a large room will make them look insignificant.

  • Make use of subtle colors

A bedroom should be soothing so it is best to avoid bold primary colors. The use of monochromatic tones and gentle soothing shades of blue, green and grey will create a restful, calm, and serene environment.

This is not to say that you cannot use your favorite color. If you fancy a bold or bright color, just opt for a toned version of it. For instance, you could go for pumpkin color if your favorite color is tangerine.

  • Don’t forget about the ceiling

As you lie on you bed, what do you look at as you stare up? Many would view the ceiling as the fifth wall of a room.

If you are on a budget and you have a plain boring ceiling, just paint it a slightly lighter shade than the walls. If money is no problem, add a fancy chandelier to give the room an elegant look.

Other options would be to add a wallpaper or use beautiful stencils on it.

  • Have proper lighting

For proper bedroom ambience, there should be an array of lighting options available. Have ambient lighting that will light the whole room, and small lamps that you can use when reading. Make sure each lighting has dimming options so that you are able to regulate the lighting when need arises.

Last but not least, restrict the use of cellphones, seo, tablets, televisions and other digital devices in the bedroom. Putting these away creates a proper environment for you to relax, meditate, read, sleep and perfect romance.
