It is that time again, summer and If you have already forgotten the great chores that come with every summer or you live in somewhere warm where it is always summer, you may have forgotten it is time to pull some cheapweed! As a child this was the most feared task that I would be given every Sunday morning. As I have become an adult I have seen the importance of regular weed maintenance in my own yard. If you do not regularly weed you will find that your garden is overrun with these wretched plants. When you finally do decide to weed you will find that it is a much harder task then if you had weeded a little every week or so. So in today’s article I am talking to the procrastinator who has let their weeds grow to a maximum size.

Supplies and Safety in Weeding:

I know this is a fairly simple idea but I cannot tell you how many prickles’ I have gotten on me because I did not follow proper weeding safety. Before you begin weeding make sure that you have a pair of gloves that does not have holes. You will also need a little shovel to dig up the weeds.

Pulling out the Weed:

Pulling out the weed can be one of the hardest parts of weeding. It is important you get to the root of the weed and pull it from the ground. Otherwise the weed will grow back far easier and you will be stuck pulling that same weeds in a month. So the first step needed to pull out your weed is to take your small shovel and dig it deep underneath the actual weed. This will help ensure you get under the roots and do not leave anything behind. Once you have loosened up the dirt and pushed the weed up a little from underneath you are safe to remove the weed from the ground. When you grab the weed try to grab is at the base of the plant. If you try and grab the weed on the top you will most likely only pull off the leafy part. Once you have a firm grasp on the weed pull.

Tips for Easier Weed Removal:

If you have really hard dirt you may find it is extremely hard to pull out weeds. A tip that I learned from my years of cheap weed canada pulling experience is if you wet the ground it will make it easier to pull. So grab your hose and let water soak into the ground making it softer and easier to pull a weed. If you have a large area of weeks and you can simply grab a shovel or a pick axe and rip apart the dirt and pull out the weeds. This can be done by simply grabbing a shovel and digging multiple holes around the weeded area. Once you have completely loosened the ground you will be able to simply lift the weeds out. I hope that next time you begin weeding it will go a lot easier. For more great articles please read my other stuff. Thanks.
